Jazzing Up Your Bedroom with Feng Shui
With regard to Feng Shui, the Master Bedroom is one of the most important rooms in a house. The bed exists for foundation for rest, health and relationships or marriage. The master bedroom nourishes Chi of the adults in the household. This energy in turn nourishes the children if there are any kids living in the home. If the Chi suffers so can the energy of the children. This is why the master bedroom is so important for the welfare of all in the home.
The placement of the master bedroom, condition and energy is crucial for the welfare of everyone. The ideal placement of the master bedroom is in the Commanding Position of the home, in the back of the house and as far from the front door as possible. If it is in the front part of the home, it is somewhat less favorable because it is closer to the front door and activity of the street. The back part of the house is generally quieter, more peaceful, and better protected. The best placement is cater-cornered to front door.
The best shape for bedrooms are squares or rectangles. You can then place the bagua or octagon over the bedroom to see what parts of the bedroom affect your 9 areas (health at center). You especially want to see where the marriage/relationship area of your bedroom is. If it’s not in the right place, you could experience unnecessary stresses and problems.
The best master bedroom design for Feng Shui would have one door (excluding closet doors) at the main entrance of room. Lots of doors into the room lead to additional energy flows, which can detract from your rest and make you feel vulnerable. If they leak energy you can drain your health and your money and do harm to relationships.
Windows bring in natural light. If they are located too close to bed, they can cause unhealthy drafts for the people sleeping in the bed.
A bathroom door in the bedroom is prime opportunity for you to experience energy loss in both health and marriage. It is recommended to keep bathroom door closed.
A fireplace in the bedroom can burn up the energy of a marriage, leading to exhaustion and strain. You can cure this by putting potted plant in front of the fireplace to cover its opening.
A closet door that hits the main door of bedroom cause clashing, arguments, etc. An easy way to cure this is to hang red drapery tassels from each door knob.
Sheffield Top Tip: Feng Shui has many principles for auspicious bed placement — the best place to put the bed. Use common sense and look at condition of room. The commanding position of the bed rates more than the compass direction that the bed faces. Place the bed based on how it relates to the bedroom door. It should be placed as far from the door as possible. This helps you to feel more in control of how you feel over your life. The larger the space in front of your bed, the more your life expands, breathes and improves. It is best if you can see the bedroom door from your bed. Not seeing who’s approaching from the door can make you nervous and upset. This causes stress and imbalance. Your bed should not sit in the direct line of the path of the doorway. If your bed does sit in the direct line of the door, the chi of the door runs directly up the middle of the bed. This can cause disease.
Try to position the head of the bed against a solid wall — this symbolizes your mountain. It provides support and protection. A new bed contains fresh, new energy that supports health. In used beds, previous owners leave energetic impressions. It can retain emotions, sexual energy, and sickness.
Lastly, color your bed for vitality. Pink can attract love and romance. Red can attract passion. Green is good for health, healing, and new growth. Yellow is another healing color.
